Cloud computing has emerged as a transformative technology in the modernization of government IT infrastructures. With rising demands for digital services, governments worldwide are integrating cloud services to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve public service delivery. However, the path to adoption is fraught with challenges, including regulatory concerns, data sovereignty, legacy system integration, and cybersecurity risks. This paper explores both the strategic benefits and persistent challenges faced by public sector institutions in adopting cloud computing, with a focus on the context. It further examines to assess historical adoption patterns and provides updated insights relevant for future policy and implementation strategies.
